On Saturday, March 8, from 9 am to 1 pm, come visit the History Museum for our first Teacher Orientation Workshop! From self-guided visits to dramatic performances, the museum has something for all types of learners. We will help you prepare for your visit here, offering helpful hints on everything from how to arrange a field trip to how to integrate a museum experience into your school year.

For more information or to hold a spot, contact Gwen Perkins, School Programs Coordinator, at gperkins@wshs.wa.gov or 253.798.5927.

Professional Development Opportunities

Looking for professional development opportunities for your school or district? Hoping for free, online curricular materials that support EALRs and CBAs?

The Washington State History Museum's Department of Education is offering teacher in-service trainings at your school, free of charge. A Bank of America grant is funding these sessions to train teachers in how to use the WashingtonHistoryOnline.org lesson plans. These online lesson plans can be used to integrate social studies into art, language arts, or science curriculum. For more information, download the materials below or contact Gwen Perkins, School Programs Coordinator, at gperkins@wshs.wa.gov.
