The Treaty Trail: Isaac Stevens' Treaty Councils 1854-1856
Additional Resources: Reading List

The amount of material written about Native American culture in the Pacific Northwest is staggering. Unfortunately, many textbooks continue to perpetuate stereotypes by creating overly simplistic pan-Indian summaries of Native American culture. The collection of books below contain some general Washington history books and compilations of Native American stories that are culture specific. It is hoped that readers and teachers will use the books below to continue their studies about Native American history.
